    About this service

    Upholstery Cleaning done properly

Upholstery takes more daily wear than almost anything in your home, and every fabric reacts differently to water and cleaners. We read the care code, test an out-of-sight spot and choose the method that cleans without shrinking, bleeding or leaving rings.

    • Fabric tested first: velvet, linen, microfiber, leather-look and more
    • Gentle low-moisture methods for delicate pieces
    • Body oils, spills and odors treated
    • Cushions, arms, backs and under-cushion areas
    From the owner

Why I check the tag first

Before I clean any sofa, I look for the cleaning code under the cushion or underneath the frame. A “W” or “WS” code allows water-based cleaning, as long as the fabric isn’t over-wet. An “S” code means solvent only, and an “X” code means vacuum and light brushing only, so no water at all. Using the wrong method on the wrong fabric is the fastest way to ruin a sofa, which is why this step comes before everything else.

What people mean by steam cleaning

Many customers ask for “steam cleaning” and assume it’s always the right answer. What most people mean is hot water extraction, which is the method I use. But the right result depends on matching the cleaning solution and the heat to the fabric. Too much heat or moisture can damage delicate fabrics, so I choose the method for each piece instead of using one setting for everything.
